THE ROLE
Reporting to the Manager, you'll be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our grinding and material handling equipment — keeping production targets on track while maintaining quality, equipment condition, and full compliance with safety requirements. No two days look exactly the same, and we want someone who brings the same level of focus and care to every shift.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Run the equipment. Operate the roto-chopper grinder, colorizer, conveyors, and loading equipment safely and efficiently day in, day out.
- Process and handle ground material throughout the mulch yard.
- Monitor product quality and dial in equipm. ent settings when needed.
- Keep up with daily, weekly, monthly, and annual preventive maintenance (PMs) per manufacturer specs.
- Spot and report mechanical issues or defects to Maintenance before they become bigger problems.
- Communicate production updates, equipment status, and material concerns to the PMP Manager.
- Coordinate with Dispatch and Logistics to keep product moving and deliveries on time.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area - always.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Experience matters: Minimum 3 years of heavy equipment operating experience preferred.
- Hands-on background with grinders, loaders, excavators, or similar equipment is a strong asset.
- Mechanical aptitude — you can spot a problem and know when to flag it.
- Valid AZ Licence and clean Driver's Abstract considered an asset.
- Comfort working outdoors in an industrial environment year-round in all weather conditions.
- Previous experience in mulch, recycling, manufacturing, or similar industries is a bonus.
- A safety-first mindset - you follow safe work practices because you believe in them, not just because you have to.
