Tax Manager - North York and Oakville
Our client, a mid-sized public accounting firm, is seeking a Tax Manager to lead complex tax engagements, manage key client relationships, and oversee a growing team of tax professionals. This role is both strategic and hands-on, supporting the continued growth and technical excellence of the firm’s tax practice.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Planning & Advisory
- Lead advanced tax planning for corporate, personal, and partnership clients.
- Provide guidance on reorganizations, transactions, and complex tax matters.
- Conduct and oversee technical tax research.
Tax Compliance Oversight
- Manage and review complex returns and tax files.
- Ensure accuracy, quality, and timely delivery across engagements.
- Oversee responses to audits and tax authority inquiries.
Client Leadership
- Serve as a senior advisor to high-value clients.
- Identify opportunities to add value and strengthen relationships.
Team Management
- Lead and mentor tax staff at all levels.
- Oversee workflow, engagement planning, and technical development.
Practice Development
- Stay current on tax legislation and emerging issues.
- Contribute to improving processes, service offerings, and overall tax practice strategy.
Qualifications
- CPA designation required.
- Extensive public accounting experience with a focus on tax.
- Advanced tax training (e.g., CPA In-Depth Tax Course) is an asset.
- Strong leadership, communication, and technical tax skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple engagements and deliver exceptional client service.
