Overview
We are seeking a skilled Manual Lathe Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, proficiency with CNC and manual machining processes, and experience reading blueprints and technical drawings. This role involves operating manual lathes, setting up equipment, and ensuring precision in producing high-quality components. Candidates with knowledge of Fanuc controls, CNC programming, SolidWorks, CAD, and related tools will excel in this position. The successful applicant will play a vital part in our production process, contributing to efficient manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Operate manual lathe machines to produce precision parts according to specifications
- Set up and calibrate equipment using blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models
- Utilize CNC programming knowledge to assist with machine setup and troubleshooting when necessary
- Measure workpieces with calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure accuracy
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings for proper machining procedures
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other machining tools to complete tasks
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment adhering to safety standards
- Assist with assembly processes and use forklift or other material handling equipment as needed
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow and reduce waste
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating manual lathes and CNC lathe/milling machines
- Strong mechanical knowledge with understanding of machining processes
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models (SolidWorks preferred)
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls and CNC programming is a plus
- Proficiency in basic math for measurements and calculations required for machining tasks
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and forklift operation
- Knowledge of manufacturing standards, lean manufacturing principles, and assembly techniques
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality control
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
