Rite Excavation Limited (Rite-X) is seeking a reliable and hardworking Construction Laborer who has knowledge of excavation, civil, and earthworks practices to join our team.
The ideal candidate must have knowledge of provincial construction safety regulations, be physically capable to take on daily construction labour tasks in an outdoor environment and be flexible to commute to various areas of the GTA and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate must also be reliable, and eager to learn new skills in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Load and unload construction material
- Assist with site preparation and clean up.
- Installation of safety barriers and precautions.
- Hand dig around utility services and in other areas when required.
- Operate basic hand and power tools.
- Operate jumping jacks and plate tampers.
- Support the machine operators, pipelayers, and working foreman in their day-to-day tasks.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment.
- Perform physically demanding tasks in various weather and site conditions.
- Be able to follow instruction and be a team player.
Required Competencies and Attributes:
- 2 or more years of previous construction experience and knowledge.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform manual labour.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Be able to pass any client required security screenings and background checks.
- Must have a valid G drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle to travel to various construction sites.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Able to read and understand locates.
- Good communication skills, written and oral.
Work Environment:
- Work is performed on construction sites, which will involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
