About Us
Wagler Construction Inc. is a growing renovation and carpentry company serving Brantford, Cambridge, Paris, Woodstock, and the surrounding areas. We specialize in high-quality residential renovations, as well as select commercial and industrial projects.
We are looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter who takes pride in their work, can lead a crew, and consistently produces high-quality craftsmanship. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the owner while taking responsibility for the day-to-day operation of projects on site.
Position Overview
This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who is confident managing projects, directing other employees, solving problems on site, and maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
The ideal candidate is someone who can complete virtually every aspect of a residential renovation without needing constant supervision.
Responsibilities
- Lead residential renovation projects from start to finish
- Supervise and direct crew members on site
- Read and interpret drawings and project plans
- Maintain quality control and company standards
- Keep job sites clean, organized, and safe
- Communicate project progress and any issues to management
- Train and mentor apprentices and junior employees
- Ensure projects stay productive and on schedule
Required Qualifications
We are looking for someone with well-rounded renovation experience, including the ability to confidently complete most or all of the following:
- Framing
- Drywall installation and repairs
- Taping and mudding repairs
- Interior trim and finish carpentry
- Flooring installation (vinyl plank, laminate, hardwood)
- Ceramic and porcelain tile installation
- Door and window installation
- Cabinet installation
- Decks and exterior carpentry
- General renovation work and problem solving
The successful candidate should also have:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on renovation or carpentry experience
- Experience leading or supervising a crew
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods
- Ability to read construction drawings and layouts
- Excellent attention to detail and workmanship
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Valid G driver's licence with reliable transportation
- Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding work

- Red Seal Carpenter Certification
- Working at Heights
- First Aid/CPR
- Equipment operation experience

Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
