Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Service Technician/Mechanic and or experienced apprentice to join our dynamic team on the South side of Edmonton, Ab. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair, problem solving skills, maintenance, and diagnostics, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Duties
- Perform comprehensive vehicle repairs, including engine, transmission, brake, alignments and suspension systems
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid replacements
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, diagnostic tools, and mechanical knowledge
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete repairs and modifications
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
- Assist with vehicle assembly and disassembly as needed
- Read and interpret technical schematics and repair manuals and maintenance requirements
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly in English
- Inspect motors in operation, road test vehicles, and test systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices and skills to diagnose and isolate faults.
- Adjust, repair or replace parts and components, including fuel system, brakes, steering and suspension, engine and drive train, emission control and exhaust, welding, cooling and climate control, and electrical and electronic systems.
- Mentor, coach, train and support the development of apprentices in the facility.
- Maintain the highest quality standard, following best practices, compliance, and trade regulations.
Requirements/We’re looking for:
- Proven experience as an automotive mechanic or technician
- Strong mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems and components
- Ability to communicate in English fluently is required
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks requiring heavy lifting
- Experience with automotive repair, maintenance, and diagnostics
- Familiarity with schematics, assembly processes, and technical manuals
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good customer service skills to communicate effectively with our team and clients
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a busy workshop environment
- Able to work 40 hr per week
- Must possess a valid driver's license and safe driving demonstrated through a valid driver’s abstract report
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of industry standards
