Job Summary
Rainforest Cafe Niagara Falls Canada is seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to support daily kitchen operations. The Kitchen Assistant will help with food preparation, ingredient handling, kitchen cleaning, dishwashing, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment while assisting chefs and kitchen staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs and cooks with food preparation and basic cooking tasks
- Wash, peel, chop, slice, and portion ingredients
- Prepare vegetables, meats, sauces, and other food items as directed
- Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment
- Keep kitchen workstations, storage areas, and preparation areas clean and organized
- Restock food supplies, ingredients, and kitchen equipment
- Receive and store deliveries following food safety guidelines
- Remove garbage and recycling according to health and safety procedures
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations
- Assist with opening, closing, and other general kitchen duties
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Assistant, Kitchen Helper, Prep Cook, or Dishwasher is preferred but not required
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen sanitation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg)
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Food Handler Certification is an asset
