Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as a First Cook. This role involves providing exceptional food service, preparing meals, and ensuring food safety standards are maintained. The ideal candidate will have experience in serving and food handling within a restaurant, Retirement residence, or food industry setting, demonstrating a passion for delivering quality dining experiences. Duties
- Serve Residents efficiently and courteously, ensuring a positive dining experience
- Prepare and cook a variety of food items according to established recipes and standards
- Assist with food presentation and plating to enhance visual appeal
- Handle food safely by following proper hygiene and sanitation procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas throughout shifts
- Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines to prevent contamination
- Support meal preparation during busy periods, ensuring timely service
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen
- Collaborate with team members to deliver exceptional service and maintain high standards
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, Retirement, or kitchen environment preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal assembly
- Understanding of food handling safety protocols and sanitation standards
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to serve Residents with professionalism and courtesy
- Basic knowledge of the food industry and retirement operations is desirable
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including peak hours when needed
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety in all tasks
