Siwash Lake Wilderness Resort is hiring a Seasonal Private Nanny & Household Assistant for the 2026 summer guest season. This role is centred around caring for Max, our 2-year-old son, helping support his safety, happiness, independence, confidence, and development while living in a unique ranch and wilderness environment.
*
The right person will love young children, be genuinely interested in early childhood development, enjoy outdoor play and nature-based learning, and also be comfortable with the practical work of supporting a busy household. This includes laundry, dishes, cleaning, tidying, organizing, and helping keep daily life running smoothly during the resort season.
*
This is a unique seasonal role at a small, family-owned luxury wilderness guest ranch. Siwash Lake hosts a maximum of 16 guests at a time and is known for horseback riding, wilderness adventure, ranch life, sustainability, and highly personal hospitality. Our children’s activities are inspired by our Free-Range Kids program, with days often including nature walks, creative outdoor play, fort building, visiting farm animals, collecting eggs, and spending meaningful time outside.
*
While the role is mainly private nannying for Max, occasional childcare for guest children may also be required. The right candidate must be comfortable living and working in a remote resort setting where the days can be dynamic, plans can shift, and team members sometimes need to jump in, pivot, and help where needed.
*
About the Role
This is not a childcare-only position. Household support is a meaningful part of the job.
*
The successful candidate will be responsible for helping Max have a safe, happy, active, and developmentally rich summer. This includes supporting his daily routines, encouraging his growing independence, helping him explore the world around him, and providing steady, attentive care through the normal ups and downs of toddler life.
*
This role also requires practical household support. You should be equally comfortable reading books with a toddler, playing outside, helping with potty time, preparing simple snacks, folding laundry, cleaning bathrooms or common areas, resetting the kitchen, tidying play spaces, and noticing what needs doing without being asked every time.
*
Because this role exists within a working luxury wilderness resort, flexibility matters. This is not a purely private household environment. The right person will understand that Siwash Lake is both a family home and an active hospitality business, and will be able to work with professionalism, discretion, warmth, and adaptability around family, staff, and guests.
*
