Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) to lead quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across our childcare centre(s). This role is ideal for an experienced RECE who has a strong understanding of the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 (CCEYA), Ontario Ministry of Education (MoE) licensing requirements, and Toronto Children's Services (TCS) guidelines.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all classrooms, educators, and centre operations consistently meet or exceed regulatory requirements while promoting best practices in early learning. This individual will develop policies, conduct audits, coach educators, monitor classroom quality, and implement systems that ensure ongoing compliance throughout the year.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), Ministry of Education (MoE) licensing requirements, Toronto Children's Services (TCS) guidelines, and all centre policies.
- Develop, review, and update centre policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
- Conduct monthly classroom audits and quarterly centre-wide compliance reviews.
- Monitor classroom practices to ensure health, safety, supervision, documentation, and program quality standards are consistently met.
- Coach, mentor, and train RECEs, ECAs, and supervisors on regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Prepare the centre for Ministry licensing inspections and support corrective action planning.
- Monitor staff performance, provide coaching, and support continuous quality improvement.
- Maintain accurate compliance records, reports, and licensing documentation.
- Track legislative and regulatory changes and implement required policy and operational updates.
- Develop compliance tools, checklists, and quality assurance systems to monitor and improve centre performance.
- Collaborate with centre leadership to foster a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a licensed childcare setting.
- Minimum 2 years in a supervisory, compliance, quality assurance, or leadership role.
