About the Role
We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) and/or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for a long-term placement. This role involves providing direct, hands-on care to individuals with diverse and often complex needs, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.
This position requires flexible availability, during the weekdays and weekends. Candidates must be comfortable providing care to clients with complex medical needs. This positing is for an existing vacancy.
What You Will Do
- Deliver high-quality nursing care using the nursing process, aligned with company policies and client care plans
- Promote client independence while considering individual strengths, needs, and limitations
- Provide consultation and support to fellow nursing colleagues
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reports
- Support clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, feeding, and washroom assistance
- Monitor clients and their environment to ensure safety and promptly report any concerns
- Assist with safe arrival and departure of clients as required
- Perform nursing care and client assessments based on individual needs
- Assist with mobility, emergency response, and activity programming when needed
- Complete and submit incident reports
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Experience with paediatrics and complex care is considered an asset.
What We’re Looking For
- Must be able to speak Kinyarwanda language.
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Current CPR or BLS certification
- Strong assessment skills and experience providing direct client care
- Excellent time management, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Physical ability to meet job demands
- Comfortable working independently in home care settings
- Must be comfortable working in a home with pets
