The Position:
We are hiring a Client Success Engineer (CSE) to lead solutions and client success across the full lifecycle – from pre-sales consultation through post-sales delivery, support, and expansion. This role blends sales acumen, engineering confidence, and operational oversight at a high, critical level.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical and business development acumen. They will lead our internal solutions & sales function and grow our business development efforts. You will be a bridge between clients, product, and engineering, ensuring we deliver outstanding customer outcomes while enabling scalable growth.
Job Responsibilities:
Sales and Business Development
- Work with prospective clients to deeply understand their needs, objectives, and technical constraints
- Collaborate with sales, product, and engineering teams to design tailored solutions
- Prepare quotes, pro-formas, and invoices
- Present solutions and guide clients through technical considerations and tradeoffs
- Collaborate with internal logistics and prepare necessary shipping documentation and convey status updates to clients
- Oversee inside sales and support teams: mentor, set metrics, ensure alignment with company goals
- Represent Digital Shovel at trade shows, conferences, industry events to generate leads and partnerships
- Build relationships with clients, vendors, and ecosystem partners
- Track pipeline health, project status, and follow up on leads, opportunities, and open items
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity; provide strategic insights to leadership
Client Success and Solutions
- Manage support desk to ensure that responses and solutions are delivered based on SLAs
- Develop and maintain SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and technical documentation
- Serve as escalation point: ensure solutions meet client expectations and timelines
- Gather client feedback for continuous improvement in product and designs
- Translate design changes or feature requests between clients and engineering
- Work with design engineers and management to improve support and implementation processes
- Contribute to knowledge base: document recurring issues, FAQs, and product updates
Experience:
- 5+ years in technical sales, solutions engineering, client success, or comparable role
- Proven track record in a sales and/or technical support role
- Experience or education in an engineering role is a strong asset
- Experience managing or coordinating cross-functional teams
Qualifications:
- Strong technical aptitude (comfortable discussing system architecture, power requirements, etc.)
- Past experience in the data center industry is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills — with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally as needed (up to 5 shows per year)
- Basic working knowledge or understanding of AI data centres and/or high-density computing.
