Overview
Blue Springs Irrigation & Lighting Inc. is hiring an Irrigation Labourer to support our installation and service crews across the Niagara region. You'll work alongside experienced techs on residential and commercial irrigation systems; digging, hauling, assembling, and learning the trade hands-on. No irrigation experience required, but landscaping or general labour background is a strong asset.
Duties
- Dig trenches and assist with installation of pipes, valves, and irrigation components
- Assist technicians with system installs, repairs, and seasonal start-ups/shutdowns
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely under crew lead direction
- Load/unload materials and keep job sites organized and clean
- Help locate and repair leaks, breaks, and clogged lines as directed
- Maintain accurate awareness of daily tasks and report issues to crew lead
- Support spring openings and fall closings during peak seasons
Requirements
- Prior experience with irrigation systems, gardening, or horticulture is preferred
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in outdoor conditions for extended periods
- Knowledge of landscape maintenance, mechanical systems, and construction practices is advantageous
- Comfortable with physical work — digging, lifting, being outdoors in all conditions
- Reliable, shows up on time, works well as part of a crew
- Ability to operate hand/power tools safely and effectively
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on irrigation components
- Valid driver’s license preferred; ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions required
This position is ideal for individuals passionate about outdoor environments and seeking hands-on experience installing & servicing irrigation systems.
Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
