About the Role
Sous Chef
As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Executive Chef to oversee daily kitchen operations, food preparation, execution of banquet service, and kitchen staff. You will play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and efficiency.
Cook
As a Cook, you will assist the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs with food preparation, cooking, and banquet execution. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working as part of a team in a high-volume banquet environment.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Executive Chef to complete daily kitchen operations.
- Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to Roma's quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen at all times.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety regulations.
- Assist with banquet setup, service, and breakdown.
- Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation meet company standards.
- Help supervise and support kitchen staff when required.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced banquet environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation techniques.
- Experience working in a banquet or high-volume kitchen is considered an asset.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Passion for cooking and creating high-quality food.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Culinary education is considered an asset.
ExperienceSous Chef
- Minimum 2-4 years of professional kitchen experience.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
Cook
- Minimum 2–4 years of professional cooking experience.
Schedule
- Primarily evenings and weekends.
- Casual, part-time hours based on event bookings.
- Additional shifts available during peak wedding and event seasons.
