Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to join our dynamic hospitality team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing exceptional guest services and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. This role is vital in creating a positive dining experience and maintaining smooth restaurant operations. Prior experience in food service, hospitality, or restaurant environments is preferred, but we welcome enthusiastic individuals eager to develop their customer service skills. The Host/Hostess will be responsible for managing reservations, greeting guests, and coordinating seating arrangements to optimize table turnover and guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Warmly greet guests upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements
- Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries professionally and courteously
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand area
- Communicate effectively with the serving staff regarding guest needs and seating plans
- Handle phone inquiries with proper phone etiquette, including taking reservations and answering questions about the restaurant
- Assist with maintaining a welcoming environment that reflects our hospitality standards
- Support other front-of-house duties as needed to ensure smooth restaurant operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in guest services, serving, or hospitality is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills and excellent phone etiquette
- Knowledge of POS systems, especially Micros POS, is a plus
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service with a friendly demeanor
- Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in food service or restaurant settings is preferred but not required
- Hotel or hospitality experience is considered an asset
- Reliable, punctual, and professional appearance are essential for representing our establishment effectively
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15.0 – 30.0 per week
