King Cole Catering has been proudly serving Winnipeg and Southern Manitoba since 1996. We specialize in weddings, corporate events, galas, fundraisers, and private functions, providing delicious, home-cooked food and exceptional service throughout the province.
We are currently hiring a full-time Catering Chef to join our growing team for the busy summer season. This position offers guaranteed full-time hours from June through September, with the opportunity for continued employment into the fall and winter for the right candidate.
This role is ideal for an experienced banquet cook, catering cook, or line cook who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in producing high-quality food for large events.
Compensation & Benefits
- $18.00–$21.00 per hour, based on experience
- Gratuity sharing program (typically an additional $4–$8 per hour worked)

Schedule
- Full-time seasonal position

Position Overview
The Catering Chef works as part of our kitchen team preparing food for weddings, corporate events, and special occasions throughout Manitoba.
Shifts typically begin at our commercial kitchen located at 19 Watt Street, Unit 2, Winnipeg, where food is prepared, packed, and loaded. The Catering Chef then travels with the team to event locations to assist with on-site cooking, execution, service, and event breakdown.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare food according to recipes, prep lists, and production schedules
- Execute banquet and catering events both in the kitchen and on-site
- Assist with loading and unloading catering equipment, food, and supplies
- Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation standards are maintained
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
- Organize and prioritize prep tasks to meet event timelines
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Assist with inventory organization and stock rotation
- Work collaboratively with chefs, cooks, event managers, and service staff
- Help train and support less experienced kitchen team members when required
- Assist with event teardown and return of equipment to the kitchen
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of professional kitchen, catering, banquet, or restaurant experience
- Previous banquet or catering experience is strongly preferred
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and reliable transportation required
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality
- Food Handler Certification is considered an asset
