The Medical Office Administrator welcomes patients, answers preliminary non-medical questions, schedules appointments, organizes the clinic's calendars and is the liaison between medical professionals and patients.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience working in a fast-paced medical office setting is preferred.
- Experience and knowledge of third party billing is an asset.
- Excellent customer service skills including professional oral and written communication.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Exceptional organizational skills with great attention to detail and accuracy.
- Working knowledge of computers, fax, copiers and other technology.
Main Duties:
- Greeting patients in a friendly and professional manner (both in person and on the phone).
- Maintaining the schedule; booking patients in, changing and cancelling appointments while managing the patient waitlist.
- Billing, invoicing, and collecting payments from patients. Including 3rd party EHC billing.
- Checking emails and responding to patient inquiries.
- Ensuring patient information is up to date and their forms are complete, including screening questionnaires.
- Managing the release of medical information for patients.
- Maintaining a clean and safe reception area.
- Provide cross-functional duties throughout the clinic based on needs.
