Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic OSSD Business Teacher specializing in Economics, Management, Accounting, ICT, and Business. The ideal candidate will have direct experience teaching these advanced subjects within a public or private high school setting. We are looking for an innovative teacher who can seamlessly transition between in-person and virtual classroom environments and who brings a passion for real-world business strategy and financial literacy.
Qualifications & Experiences:
- Certification: Must be a registered member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) or prior teaching experiences in BAF3M, BAT4M , CIE3M ,CIA4U, BOH4M, BBB4M .
- Required Experience: Proven, hands-on experience teaching the specific M and U level courses listed above within a public or private high school environment.
- Tech-Savvy: Strong familiarity with online teaching technologies, digital collaboration tools, and adapting traditional curriculum for engaging virtual delivery.
- Asset: Direct experience coaching or judging DECA, FBLA, or similar student business case competitions is highly desirable.
- Online Delivery: Effectively utilize virtual teaching technologies (e.g., Zoom, Google Workspace, digital whiteboards, and learning management systems) to deliver interactive and seamless online lessons.
- Program Development: Support and mentor students in our DECA business competition program targeting Grade 8 and high school students, guiding them through case studies, financial analysis, and strategic business thinking.
- Curriculum Alignment: Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans, assessments, and evaluations that align with Ontario Ministry of Education standards and Growing Success guidelines.Skills
- Strong command of English.
- Excellent communication skills for effective instruction and collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong computer skills with the ability to integrate technology into lessons effectively.
- Experience working with children and individuals with disabilities; understanding of special education needs is advantageous.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to manage classroom behavior effectively.
- Exceptional organizational skills and time management to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.
