Position Overview
We are expanding our team and are looking for a dedicated Child & Adolescent Therapist to join us as a contractor. In this role, you will deliver compassionate care to children and youth (ages 6–18) facing various mental health challenges. This in-person opportunity in New Glasgow is ideal for a professional who is deeply committed to supporting families and excels in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
· Must be in good standing with one of the following regulatory bodies:
· Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology (NSBEP)
· Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists (NSCCT)
· Nova Scotia College of Social Workers (NSCSW)
· Social workers must hold a Clinical Specialist designation
· Strong assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic intervention skills
· Experience working with a range of mental health concerns (e.g., anxiety, mood disorders, behavioural challenges, trauma, ADHD)
· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
· Commitment to ethical, evidence-based, and culturally responsive practice
· A certificate in play therapy would be considered an asset
Key Responsibilities
· Provide individual therapy to children and adolescents
· Collaborate with families, schools, and other professionals as appropriate
· Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
· Participate in team collaboration and case consultation when necessary
