THE OPPORTUNITY
- Provide advice and guidance on HR matters to employees and supervisors in the areas of policy interpretation, Code of Conduct program, STD benefits, Compensation, employee relations and Training.
- Coordinates the above activities for the Wismer Manufacturing facility and Frobisher Distribution Centre for hourly and salary employees
- Ensures WSIB Form 7’s completed and submitted in a timely manner.
- Coordinate the company STD program – responsible for claim status updates to Supervisors/Managers and payroll approvals
- Generate and Track performance reviews for hourly employees
- Assist the H&S Specialist with the safe & early return to work program for WSIB
- Maintains records and files – medical and otherwise both hardcopy and database
- Provides advice and guidance to supervisors for consistent application of the Performance and Attendance Management Policy.
- Works cooperatively with other HR staff to revise HR communications such as Employee Handbook and other safety, health and wellness initiates
- Coordinate and communicate the Employee Recognition Program at Pillers
- Responsible for the Training Program at Wismer and Frobisher. Tracking training completion, generating training reports, developing courses in Alchemy
- Assist with SQF audits of HR procedures and training.
- Manage the attendance for the hourly employees, review attendance weekly, prepare discipline for the Supervisors, recommendations to HR Manager for terminations.
- Calculate Health and Wellness Day accruals for employees less than 1 year of service.
- Conduct Exit Interviews as required
- Scan card management
- Complete UKG system updates
- Participate in the workplace/violence and harassment investigations.
- Complete terminations and appropriate paperwork for hourly employees and payroll
THE REQUIREMENTS
–Successful completion of an undergraduate degree in Human Resources Management or Business or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years of HR experience
- Completion of or working toward completion of a CHRP designation
- Computer literacy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Organizational skills, time management and attention to detail
