Confined Space Attendants
Irwin’s Safety is hiring Confined Space Attendants for a project in Fort St. John.
Successful candidates will perform confined space monitoring duties and must be able to get themselves to site.
Project is approximately March to August, 2026. Shifts will be 10 hours, 6 days per week.
Job Requirements
- Must possess a valid Confined Space Monitor certificate
- Must possess a valid Spark Watch/ Fire Watch certificate
- Must be local to Fort St. John (no travel or LOA provided)
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be able to pass drug and alcohol testing (including THC)
- Must be willing to be clean shaven (respiratory protection testing is required)
- Must be able to get self to site
- Read, write, and speak English fluently
- Must have basic computer skills and knowledge
- Must have a personal cellphone
- Required to provide own ankle-covering steel-toed boots (other PPE provided)
- Experience as a confined space attendant is preferred
Responsibilities
- Monitor hot work activities and operate fire extinguishers as required (training provided)
- Monitor and document confined space activities (training provided)
- Conduct atmospheric air monitoring using electronic gas detection equipment (training provided)
- Participate in all pre-job and daily tailgate meetings
- Identify, assess, and communicate worksite hazards to supervisors
- Safely evacuate and notify appropriate personnel during emergency situations
- Operate radios for effective communication
- Accurately complete all required logs, reports, and documentation
Job Type: Casual
Pay: $20.00-$22.50 per hour
Expected hours: 10.0 – 40.0 per week
