Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and reliable Community Inclusion Worker to support a non-verbal individual in their own home and within the community. This role focuses on promoting inclusion, safety, and meaningful participation in daily life.
This position is for 12 - 20 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support in the client’s home and community
- Complete basic documentation as required
- Support communication using non-verbal methods (e.g., visual supports, gestures, routines)
- Encourage participation in community activities based on the individual’s interests
- Support daily routines and life skills (personal care if required)
- Respond calmly and respectfully to sensory and emotional needs
- Follow individualized support plans and consistent routines
- Ensure safety, dignity, and well-being at all times
- Communicate with family members and the support team
Qualifications
- Experience supporting individuals, especially non-verbal individuals, is an asset
- Understanding of autism, sensory needs, and person-centered support
- Patient, empathetic, and dependable
- Ability to follow structure while remaining flexible
- Strong observation and communication skills
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is required
- Benefits available after a 3 month probationary period and if working 28 hours a week or more.
