Altera Roof Services is a growing commercial and residential roofing company and we're looking for motivated people who want to work hard, learn fast, and earn real money doing it.
We're not just hiring labourers — we're building tradespeople. Every person we bring on registers as an apprentice and goes to trade school. We cover the cost. You show up, work hard, and leave with a career.
This Is a Real Apprenticeship — Here's What That Means
- You'll register as an official apprentice with SkilledTradesBC
- You'll attend trade school as part of your apprenticeship — fully paid for by Altera
- You'll earn hours toward your Red Seal certification while working full-time
- By the time you're ticketed, you'll have real experience and a credential that pays you for life
This is not a casual labourer job. We're investing in you and we expect you to invest in yourself.
What You'll Be Doing
- Working alongside experienced roofers on commercial and residential job sites
- Learning how to install roofing systems — flat roofs, shingles, metal flashings, and more
- Carrying and staging materials, prepping work areas, and keeping sites clean and organized
- Using hand tools, power tools, and equipment (we'll train you)
- Building skills every day that will pay you more the longer you stick around
Requirements — Non-Negotiable
- Must be willing to register as an apprentice with SkilledTradesBC upon hiring
- Must be willing to attend trade school when scheduled — we make it work around your hours and we pay for it
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Must be able to work at heights and perform physical labour
- Valid driver's licence is a strong asset

The Money
- Starting wage based on what you bring — increases as your skills and apprenticeship level advance
- Journeymen roofers in BC earn $35–$50+/hr — that's where this path leads
- Trade school is fully covered — zero out of pocket for you
