Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our team. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining sheet metal systems across various construction and restoration projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction-related trades, with proficiency in reading schematics and working with hand tools. Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain sheet metal components in commercial and residential settings
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation and repairs
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal parts
- Perform caulking, sealing, and insulation tasks to ensure weatherproofing and energy efficiency
- Assist with construction painting, plumbing, welding, flooring installation, and tile laying as needed for comprehensive project support
- Conduct restoration work on existing structures requiring sheet metal modifications or repairs
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment at all times
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and to specifications
Requirements
- Proven experience working with hand tools, schematics, blueprints, and construction techniques
- Knowledge of carpentry, caulking, welding, plumbing, flooring installation, tile laying, and construction painting is highly desirable
- Ability to read technical drawings accurately and translate them into practical applications
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication and installation processes
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various construction environments
- Prior experience in restoration or construction projects is preferred
- Must be physically capable of handling materials and working in diverse conditions
- Valid <PERSON> (or equivalent) license
Pay: $35.00-$47.24 per hour
