Job Description:
We are currently looking for candidates to fill open positions in our growing base division. This position is for qualified Grades Persons.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures
- Adhere to all company policies and provincial regulations for safe working procedures and environment
- Participate in daily field level hazard assessments in compliance with company policies
- Knowledge and experience for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of equipment
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently
- Ability to discuss daily project procedures/goals with fellow personnel to maximize productivity and workmanship
- Check to make sure that equipment functions properly
Job Requirements:
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in road construction (excluding labourer applicants)
- Must have a valid class 5 driver’s license.
- Grades Persons must have previous experience
- Display a professional and courteous approach with co-workers, supervisors, and the public.
- Must be physically fit – repetitive bending, lifting, kneeling, walking for long periods of time.
- Problem-solving skills, timeliness, and pride in your work product are essential for success in this position.
- Working in inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust.
- Required to work out of town at times.
- Punctual and able to work full time, overtime, and weekends.
