About the Opportunity
We are working with a well-established construction organization delivering complex, high-value projects across a range of sectors.
This is a key in-house Legal Counsel role focused on managing and resolving construction-related disputes. You will partner closely with senior leadership, operations, and risk teams to drive practical, commercially sound outcomes while protecting the business.
This is an opportunity to take on a hands-on, strategic role where your expertise will directly influence project outcomes and risk management across the organization.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Lead litigation matters including liens, delay claims, contract disputes, and deficiencies
Own litigation strategy and partner with external counsel to execute
Manage the full dispute lifecycle, from early-stage risk through to resolution
Represent the business in mediations, arbitrations, and negotiations
Advise on risk, exposure, and commercial strategy in real time
Partner with project and leadership teams to guide key decisions
Influence whether matters are litigated, settled, or resolved through alternative approaches
Identify trends in disputes and help improve how the business operates going forward
Act as a trusted advisor across legal, risk, and operations
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
5-15 years of construction litigation experience.
Strong expertise in liens, delay/impact claims, and dispute resolution.
Experience managing external counsel and complex matters.
Confidence working directly with senior stakeholders.
A proactive, hands-on approach, you like owning your files and driving outcomes.
