Salary: $25,000 for the contract duration + Room and board provided.
Position Summary
Orangeville Prep Basketball Academy is seeking a highly organized, mature, and detail-oriented Coordinator, Dormitory to oversee the safe, structured, and positive day-to-day operation of our residential environment. The Coordinator, Dormitory is the gold standard of compliance at the Academy, responsible for training all staff on emergencies, facility layouts, and policies, and ensuring daily dorm operations run smoothly and consistently.
This is a full-immersion, on-campus role that requires an individual who leads by example, takes personal ownership of the residential environment, and is available to respond to issues as they arise. A Vulnerable Sector Screen and valid G driver's license are required.
Key Responsibilities
- Train all residential staff on emergency procedures, facility layouts, evacuation protocols, and Academy policies, ensure all staff are fully trained and compliant upon hire
- Manage all dorm check-ins and check-outs, including move-in and move-out logistics for student-athletes at the start and end of each term
- Conduct and enforce nightly bed checks and monitor room cleanliness standards
- Maintain a structured weekend schedule for student-athletes, including organized activities and supervised downtime
- Available a minimum of 2 weekends per month as the primary on-site emergency contact
- Ensure all staff execute circle checks on Academy vans and vehicles before each use and enforce vehicle usage protocols
- Oversee discipline processes within the residence in collaboration with Head Coaches and the Director of Athletics
- Conduct regular facility walkthroughs to ensure the residence meets safety and cleanliness standards
- Partner with Manager, Admissions & Recruitment, and Director of Facilities to develop, review and maintain all residence policies, procedures and protocols
- Report any facility maintenance issues to the appropriate Manager or Director in a timely manner
- Act as a consistent point of contact for student-athletes regarding residential life concerns
- Monitor student-athlete wellbeing and escalate concerns to the appropriate Head Coach or Manager, Admissions & Recruitment
- Liaise with the Manager, Admissions & Recruiting to execute student-athlete move-in logistics, residential onboarding, and coach/athlete orientations
- Complete any and all duties as assigned by Directors, Managers, CEO and President

- Proven ability to navigate sensitive situations involving youth in a residential setting. Maintains firm boundaries while fostering a safe, supportive environment for student-athletes
- Demonstrates reliability and follow-through in all aspects of residential life. Sets clear expectations for student-athletes and staff, and ensures those expectations are consistently met
- Handles sensitive student information and interpersonal matters with confidentiality and sound judgment. Models the behaviour and standards expected of all residential staff
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in residential life coordination, student services, or a related supervisory role
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with a high attention to detail
- Experience working with youth or young adults in a structured residential or institutional environment
- Demonstrated ability to train and manage staff, enforce policies, and maintain documentation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must hold a valid G driver's license and be comfortable operating academy vehicles
- Must have Vulnerable Sectors Screen to work with minors
- Must reside on campus – this is a live-in position
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to complete training
- Proficiency with Microsoft Teams and standard digital tools
