Position Summary
Our Station Managers are leaders who play a critical role in the success of our operations. This role is responsible for leading the station team, driving operational excellence, creating a strong customer experience, and helping build a workplace culture employees are proud to be part of. Our ideal candidate brings a work ethic demonstrated by a willingness to dig in and get the job done right, a positive attitude for following procedures, and working collaboratively with the head office team, with highly developed people skills.
You are responsible for managing inventory, meeting sales targets, and developing strategies to reduce costs while maintaining exceptional customer service. Station Managers train and motivate our employees, fostering a productive and customer-focused work environment. By analyzing sales trends and customer feedback, our Station Managers make informed decisions that help improve efficiency and drive growth.
We are looking for strong leaders with operational experience and a willingness to learn. Experience in fuel or convenience retail is considered an asset, but candidates with strong retail, hospitality, or customer service leadership backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight
- Manage daily station operations, including fuel and store activities.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of pumps, store, and property.
Team Leadership
- Manage the day-to-day staffing requirements of the store in a professional and respectful manner.
- Train and coach staff to ensure highest level of staff proficiency and efficiency in all aspects of operation and customer service
- Create staff schedules and manage labor costs.
- Foster a positive work environment and support employee moral.
- Inspire and support employees in achieving performance goals.
Financial Management
- Monitor fuel pricing and adjust as needed.
- Track sales, reconcile cash, and prepare daily/weekly reports.
- Oversee inventory control processes to reduce loss and maintain accuracy.
Customer Service
- Resolve customer issues promptly and professionally.
- Implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Sales & Marketing
- Execute promotional campaigns and upselling initiatives.
- Monitor competitor pricing and market trends.
Maintenance
- Coordinate equipment repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols for fuel handling.
Qualifications:
- Postsecondary education in business, retail, or a related field would be considered an asset.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- 2+ years of retail or fuel station management experience.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales and operational targets.
- Confident in managing employee relations, performance, and day-to-day staffing challenges.
- Experience with inventory management, cash handling, and financial reporting.
- Ability to analyze sales data, identify trends, and make informed business decisions.
- Proficiency with POS systems (Bulloch) and basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, reporting tools).
