Responsibilities and Duties:
- Review and analyze financial data to find/identify discrepancies or irregularities
- Prepare financial schedules and reports for insured losses (cyber business interruption, property business interruption, fidelity / employee dishonesty / crime, stock losses, accident benefits, disability benefits, past and future loss of income (personal injury and fatality), loss of earning capacity and present value of future care costs)
- Prepare financial schedules and reports for litigation (family law, expropriation, contract / shareholder / commercial disputes, intellectual property and loss quantification)
- Assist with private and public sector investigations, international arbitrations, forensic audits, risk assessments, allegations of misappropriation, fraud risk assessments, fraud risk management frameworks and public sector employee investigations.
- Perform financial analysis in the context of legal or potentially legal disputes
- Respond to client inquiries in a timely manner
- Meet time budget and deadlines as expected per file
- Maintain appropriate legislative knowledge on an ongoing basis
- Assist with attending conferences, events, presentations and proposals
- Other duties as required
Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge:
- Strong analytical, accounting and auditing skills
- Experience in forensic accounting or valuation
- CPA designation or working towards CPA, CBV, CFF, CFE designations an asset
- Knowledge of insurance loss quantification and claims consulting process
- Knowledge of family law, personal injury, accident benefits an asset
- Highly detail oriented, excellent organizational/time management and communication skills
- Bilingual in English and French preferred
