Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Produce Clerk to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the freshness and presentation of produce, assisting customers, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the produce department. This role is vital in providing excellent customer service and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience for all customers. The Produce Clerk must be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring department is maintained in a clean, safe, and appealing state to it’s customers
- Department must be retail ready
- Obtaining product selection
- Quality Control
- From handling product from backroom to the shelf
- How you fill the department and when you fill it
- Maintenance and employee training
- Assisting customers within department and parceling at the front
- Be able to lift 50lbs
- Be able to stand and walk around for long hours per shift
- Replenishing stock on displays
- Rotate products according to company requirements
- Greet Customers
- Assist customers within department and store
- Remove expired or bad quality products from displays
- Ensure displays are clean and neat
- Follow Health and safety Procedures
- Flexible work schedule
- Assist putting stock away in produce cooler
- Follow any cleaning and or maintenance scheduled for department
- Trim vegetables using a store provided knife
- Package goods as required
- Cut fruits and vegetables when required
- Unload produce from pallets or truck
- Ability to follow instruction or customer inquiries
- Other duties commensurate with this position as communicated by Management from time-to-time.
Working Conditions:
- Must be required to lift up to 50 lbs
- May be required to stand for long periods of time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
