Job Description
We are actively seeking a knowledgeable and driven Project Manager to lead multiple commercial projects within our specialized Door & Hardware Division. In this role, you will take full ownership of the project lifecycle, specifically focusing on hollow metal doors and frames, wood doors, and architectural hardware. You will act as the vital link between our clients, estimating department, and site installation teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Principle Responsibilities
- Project Oversight: Provide overall management direction on multiple commercial, industrial, and institutional projects simultaneously.
- Scope & Analysis: Analyze architectural drawings and contract documents to determine Division 8 requirements, including hollow metal components, wood doors, and hardware configurations.
- Client Communication: Serve as the primary contact for general contractors and property owners, providing clear updates on project schedules, materials, and change orders.
- Technical Verification: Verify field dimensions, backing locations, and mechanical/electrical rough-ins to avoid installation friction.
- Supply Chain Coordination: Ensure timely release of approved shop drawings and materials to manufacturers and expedite component deliveries.
- Financial Management: Price, process, and negotiate change order proposals, collaborating with the estimating department when needed.
- Installation Synergy: Coordinate job readiness and delivery schedules with our Service Manager to ensure seamless field execution.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of project management or coordination experience specifically focused on Division 8 (Hollow Metal, Wood Doors, and Architectural Hardware).
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Project Management, Construction Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on field experience.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of commercial construction, building codes, hardware functions, and master keying concepts.
- Industry Credentials: Door and Hardware Institute (DHI) certifications or ongoing education (e.g., AHC, CDC) is considered a strong asset.
- Software Literacy: Proficiency with standard office applications and construction tracking software.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional multi-tasking, organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative, problem-solving mindset.
