Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Educator to join our daycare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children. This role involves planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, fostering social and emotional development, and supporting children's individual needs. Bilingual skills in English and French are highly valued to enhance communication with diverse families. The Early Childhood Educator will play a vital role in promoting early learning and development while ensuring compliance with all safety and educational standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate curriculum activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and respect among children.
- Monitor and assess children's progress, documenting developmental milestones and communicating with parents or guardians regularly.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing individualized care plans.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that adheres to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to plan daily schedules, coordinate activities, and ensure smooth classroom operations.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and external professionals using strong verbal and written skills.
- Utilize computer skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes.
- Uphold licensing standards, safety protocols, and best practices in early childhood education at all times.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in a daycare or preschool setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles, child development stages, and classroom management techniques is essential.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is highly desirable to support diverse family backgrounds.
- Demonstrated leadership skills along with excellent organizational and time management abilities are important for success in this role.
- Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—are necessary to foster effective relationships with children, families, and team members.
- Familiarity with computer operation for documentation, lesson planning, or communication tools is required.
