Salary Range: $78,080 - $130,140
Schedule: Compressed Work Week (9-hour dayshifts, every other Friday off)
Working with resources across the mill site, the Process Engineer will apply their knowledge of chemical process operations and control towards process troubleshooting, optimization, and capital project support. Process troubleshooting, statistical analysis, process optimization, product quality, and cost reduction are some of the areas where this position will be adding value.
Process Engineers are a developmental position focused on supporting operations while building technical, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Reporting to the Technical Manager, this position is rotational with all operational areas of the mill, including environment and energy technical positions. Providing growth opportunities in Operations, Energy and Environmental engineering.
Review and optimization area operating criteria
Identifies process problems; recommends and evaluates possible solutions to those problems
Plans, conducts, and prepares final reports on mill trials
Capital project support, P&ID development, equipment design review, equipment commissioning, and process control support
Major maintenance outage support, ISO internal audit support, and other support as required as it relates to process optimization.
Evaluates new products that may improve safety, production and quality
Monitors performance, quality of the products and provides recommendations for optimization in all areas of the mill
Identifies causes of process upsets and recommends process changes to prevent its reoccurrence
Participates in reliability, quality and environmental incident investigations as required
Data analysis, application of problem-solving tools, and fixed costs reduction projects.
Ability to troubleshoot and provide technical support to operations
Team player with strong personal initiative and follow-through
Proficient with computers and data analysis – working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) and PI/Parcview would be an asset

Familiar with Process unit operations and control
Excellent communication skills and cross-departmental collaboration
High standards of self-performance and the ability to lead or motivate others
Ability to make logical/sound decisions and resolve issues efficiently and effectively
Continuously look for and implement process improvements and procedures
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering
2+ years’ experience with manufacturing processes, equipment and fundamentals
Valid Driver’s License
Ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and gather data
Proven leadership skills
