About Us
Ember of Hope Counselling and Training Services is a transformative healing organization founded and led by husband-and-wife team Janine (Dakelh/Wet’suwet’en) and Richard Sampson (Gitxan). We are based on the unceded traditional territory of the Lheidli T’enneh and work with groups across BC. Our primary work is through Gatherings where we facilitate healing from grief, build hope through self-awareness, empower lateral humanity, prepare people in suicide prevention and intervention, and support Indigenous trauma-informed practice and care. Since 2022, we have equipped more than 1600 people from 24 communities to learn, experience, and integrate new knowledge into their lives. Our business is growing and we are looking for a competent administrative and project coordinator to join our team.

What You’ll Do
- Manage our small but busy office ensuring that systems and processes are in place so that we can deliver excellent services and grow.
- Plan, promote and organize Gatherings for 6 – 30 people across BC. This includes contracts, quotes, invoices, booking facilities, communicating with participants, purchasing supplies, evaluations, etc.
- Assist in the creation and review of educational and promotional materials. Manage our social media accounts (website, Facebook, in-house event registration).
- Maintain internal filing system using Google Workspace, ensuring administrative records are in keeping with ethics, professional standards and applicable laws.
- Perform general office tasks: email, office scheduling, purchasing, manage inventory and facilities requests, follow up on identified action items.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in office administration, event planning and project management.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with scheduling software, email, Word, Excel, Google Workspace, Survey Monkey, Canva and other platforms. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Self-starter with a commitment to professionalism. Ability to maintain confidentiality, demonstrated initiative, judgment, decisiveness and confidence.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, ability to work independently, good customer care.
Job Requirements and Compensation
This is an in-person, full-time role (35 hours per week) that will occasionally require work during the evening. From time to time, you may need to travel, using your personal vehicle (all costs of travel are covered). Annual salary is $53 – 58,000 with three weeks’ vacation. You will also receive $500 per annum Health Spending Account and Professional Development.
