Interior Design Assistant

Amanda Shields Interiors is a growing residential interior design studio focused on timeless, elevated interiors that feel warm, layered, and deeply personal. We are currently looking for a creative and motivated Interior Design Assistant to join the studio.
This is a hybrid position with flexible hours and a high level of independence. The ideal candidate is someone who is self-motivated, adaptable, detail-oriented, and excited to be involved in many different aspects of the design process within a smaller studio environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with residential interior design projects from concept through implementation
- Source furniture, lighting, plumbing fixtures, materials, and décor
- Create and assist with presentations, mood boards, drawings, and specifications
- Assist with CAD drawings and SketchUp models
- Coordinate with vendors, trades, and suppliers
- Help with procurement, pricing, and general project organization
- Attend site visits, sourcing trips, installations, and meetings as needed
Qualifications
- 1–3+ years of residential interior design experience preferred
- Proficiency in SketchUp and CAD required
- Strong eye for design, composition, and presentation
- Familiarity with furniture and finish sourcing
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work independently
- Formal interior design education is considered an asset, but not required

A strong portfolio and presentation style are extremely important to us. We’d love to see residential work that reflects your eye for composition, layout, balance, materiality, and visual storytelling. If you don’t yet have professional client work, self-initiated residential projects are absolutely welcome.
