Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and responsible Waterfront Staff to join our team. This role involves ensuring the safety and enjoyment of campers on our beach and on canoe trips. The position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and with youth. Candidates must have Bronze Cross at minimum. NLS is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Supervise water activities such as swimming, boating, and other recreational water sports to ensure camper safety.
- Assist campers with equipment setup and usage, including life jackets and watercraft.
- Enforce safety rules and respond promptly to emergencies or unsafe behavior.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of waterfront areas, including docks, beaches, and equipment storage.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks related to setting up or breaking down equipment and supplies.
- Monitor weather conditions and communicate any safety concerns to the directing team.
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with campers and parents and addressing their questions or needs.
Qualifications
- Strong swimming skills and comfort in aquatic environments are essential.
- Bronze Cross or NLS.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely, often requiring physical strength and stamina.
- Prior experience working outdoors or in water-related activities is preferred but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor to interact effectively with campers.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions, including sun, wind, and rain.
