Looking to build a rewarding skill set in food manufacturing? We are hiring a Packager to join our Ready-to-Eat (RTE) department. In this role, you will rotate through various functions in the packaging area, working collaboratively with co-workers and supervisors to support efficient plant operations while learning Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and acquiring expertise in a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) certified plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently package finished products, ensuring proper product codes, weights, labels, and counts.
- Verify that all packaging materials and finished products meet Heidelberg Foods’ strict specifications.
- Accurately complete product changeovers, including packaging size, film, counts, and machine setup on the Repak packaging machine and Inotec de-linker.
- Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and record production details.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized work area throughout the shift, keeping your workspace safe and free of hazards.
Requirements & Work Environment
- No experience required: We provide extensive training in Food Safety, HACCP, and safe equipment operation. However, previous experience in the industry is an asset that will be considered during the hiring process.
- Must possess effective time management, clear communication skills, and a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to use proper lifting techniques for occasional heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
- The work area is climate-controlled at 8°C; we provide lined jackets, non-slip footwear, food safety outerwear, and all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Compensation & Shifts
- Pay: $22.00 to $23.00/hour.
- Schedule: Shifts typically run from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with two 30-minute breaks (start times may change depending upon production schedules).
- Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package provided after a three-month probationary period.
