Job Description:
Rocanda is seeking a Site Safety Manger at our Leduc/Edmonton facilities. This position is a full-time management role, overseeing HSE compliance at all facilities and working as a part of the leadership team in managing our growing team of 40+ employees over four locations. This is a multi-faceted role - qualified candidates should expect to work in multiple administrative areas as needed and provide in-warehouse support to buildings.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Improve, update, and maintain safety manuals and procedures
- Monitor building safety performance and implement process improvements where needed, in collaboration with building supervisors
- Work with other members of the management team to oversee all staff, locations, and operations
- Oversee all HSE committees
- Conduct building inspections routinely
- Assist on WCB reports, compliance, and follow-ups
- Help provide training to new staff
- Fill in for staff in high demand areas when needed, including staging product or loading and unloading trucks
- Assist head office and USA locations on safety and compliance, as needed
- Provide logistics and administrative support, as needed
- Assign tasks and direction to building leads, along with requisite follow-up to ensure timely execution of critical tasks
- Assist in the overall maintenance of Rocanda’s document management system
Prior experience in a supervisory or management role is a must. Experience as a safety manager, HSE manager, or safety lead in a manufacturing or distribution facility is expected. Familiarity with non-hazardous chemical manufacturing, ISNetworld, Complyworks, and WCB considered strong assets. The ideal candidate should be someone who is comfortable spending time driving a forklift and helping on the warehouse floor when needed, while also possessing strong computer skills and an eagerness to independently jump into areas of need across the business.

Pay: $95,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
