Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Sheet Metal Journeyman to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Install, assemble, and fabricate sheet metal components for HVAC systems, ductwork, ventilation, and refrigeration units following detailed schematics and design specifications.
- Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC/R equipment, including boilers, air conditioning units, and ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Read and interpret complex schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design documents to ensure precise installation and service.
- Perform field service tasks such as appliance repair, property maintenance, and equipment troubleshooting to resolve operational issues efficiently.
- Utilize tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing and welding equipment for metal fabrication tasks.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including service reports and inspection logs.
- Operate a driver vehicle safely to transport tools or materials between job sites as needed.
Skills
- Extensive experience in construction environments with a strong understanding of mechanical systems installation and repair.
- Valid Sheet metal Journeyman License (308A)
- Proven service technician experience with HVAC/R systems, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), plumbing, and appliance repair.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret HVAC design plans for proper system installation.
- Mechanical knowledge related to equipment repair, welding techniques, boiler operation, and property maintenance.
- Field service expertise with a focus on air conditioning systems, refrigerants, and ammonia refrigeration processes.
- Proficiency with electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters; familiarity with HVAC/R controls is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude combined with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating heavy machinery or specialized equipment is advantageous.

For An apprentice Pay rate is from $21-$26 and for a journeyman its $45-$50
