Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Shop/Yard Worker to join our team. This role involves preventative maintenance on heavy equipment, repairs on heavy trucks, maintaining shop and tools, yard organization, assisting with customer landscaping/aggregate orders and various farm duties. The ideal candidate will have shop experience, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to operate various equipment such as a skidsteer. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment supporting construction, landscaping, and farming operations.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in the maintenance and repair of our heavy trucks and equipment
- Operate skidsteer safely and efficiently in accordance with safety protocols
- Assist with customer's landscaping and aggregate orders to ensure timely delivery and receipt of goods
- Support construction and farm related tasks as needed, including material handling and site preparation
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment and tools to ensure proper functioning
- Maintain a clean and organized shop/yard area to promote safety and efficiency
Requirements
- Prior experience in mechanics/construction/landscaping is preferred
- Mechanical knowledge and familiarity with shop management systems are advantageous. First and second year mechanic apprentices welcomed.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as skidsteers is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong understanding of shop safety protocols and procedures
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions
- Valid certification or licensing for heavy equipment operation is a plus
- Valid Class 5 driver's license is a must as well as reliable transportation to/from work
Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
