Job Description
We are currently seeking qualified CWB Welder to join our on-site Construction team, for a one to two month project, based out of a remote camp location near Fort MacKay, Alberta. This position offers the opportunity to participate in construction on the Imperial Oil (IOL) Kearl Lake Sodium Citrate Injection Process System. The shift is planned to be 21 days on and 7 days off rotation, 10-hour days. While the preference is to hire candidates who resides locally, fly-in, fly-out from Edmonton, Alberta or Calgary, Alberta will be available based on eligibility.
Hourly rate: $50.77/hr.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform all duties safely and efficiently in accordance with applicable legislation, company policies, procedures, and site safety requirements.

Execute structural welding using SMAW, FCAW, MCAW, and/or GMAW processes in accordance with qualifications and approved welding procedures.

Weld structural steel components including columns, beams, bracing, pipe supports, platforms, handrails, and skids.

Read and interpret structural drawings, fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).

Prepare materials for welding, including preheating, weld preparation, plasma cutting, and oxy-fuel gas cutting.

Set up, adjust, and maintain welding heads, tooling, and welding equipment to meet work specifications.

Assist with the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of welding, brazing, and soldering equipment.

Perform all-position welding using F3 and F4 electrodes as required.

Ensure welds meet project specifications, quality standards, and inspection requirements.

Verify fit-up, perform grinding and finishing activities, and conduct visual inspections of completed welds.

Follow CSA W59 Structural Welding Code, CWB procedures, WPS requirements, and quality control standards.

Participate in quality inspections, non-conformance investigations, and weld repair activities when required.

Maintain welding equipment and work areas in a safe, clean, and organized condition.

Comply with Job Safety Analysis (JSA) requirements, permits, and all site-specific safety procedures.

Collaborate with supervisors, inspectors, and fabrication teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.

Qualifications

Apprentice up to and including Journeyman Red Seal level

Strong technical knowledge and proven experience as a welder

Experience in an industrial setting required

Knowledge and experience with industrial construction an asset

Excellent interpersonal skills

Ability to clearly communicate with all levels of a project organization

Basic English oral, written communication skills

Ability to work rotationally on remote sites
