Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Parts Advisor to join our automotive parts team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills, with a background in automotive parts and retail sales. This role involves assisting customers with their parts needs, managing inventory, and providing exceptional service to ensure customer satisfaction. Experience with dealership operations, POS systems, and automotive repair processes is highly valued. The Parts Advisor plays a vital role in supporting the service department and enhancing overall dealership performance.
Duties
- Assist customers in selecting and purchasing automotive parts through in-person interactions, phone inquiries, and online requests
- Manage inventory levels, order fulfillment, and stock organization to ensure availability of parts
- Utilize POS systems for accurate sales transactions, cash handling, and billing procedures
- Provide expert advice on parts compatibility, installation, and maintenance procedures
- Maintain detailed records of sales, customer interactions, and inventory
- Collaborate with the service department to identify parts needs for repairs and maintenance
- Ensure proper merchandising of parts displays and maintain a clean, organized work environment
- Handle customer inquiries professionally via phone etiquette, negotiation skills, and effective communication
- Support marketing efforts by promoting parts specials or new product offerings when appropriate
- Assist in order fulfillment processes and ensure timely delivery of parts to customers or service technicians
Experience
- Previous dealership experience or retail sales background preferred but will train the right person
- Familiarity with POS systems and inventory management tools
- Knowledge of automotive repair processes and parts specifications is highly desirable
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively
- Experience in cashiering, cash handling, and sales management preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in order fulfillment and record keeping
- Proficiency in math skills for pricing calculations, and phone etiquette are essential
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and courtesy
