Catch a Balloon is a private pediatric multidisciplinary therapy clinic dedicated to providing high-quality, client-centered services to children from 2 years to 12 years of age. Our therapeutic approach is grounded in understanding the unique roles each child fulfills and supporting them in developing the skills needed for independence and success.
We are currently seeking enthusiastic and compassionate individuals to join our team as Volunteer Summer Camp Facilitators for our upcoming Catch a Balloon Summer Camp. This structured, play-based camp offers therapeutic activities focused on fine motor development, sensory integration, social interaction, and gross motor skills for children aged 4 to 12 under supervision of occupational therapists and psychotherapists.
Position Summary:
The Summer Camp Facilitator will support the implementation of group-based activities. This position offers valuable experience in a pediatric therapeutic setting and is ideal for individuals pursuing careers in occupational therapy, child development, education, Psychology, or related fields.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist supervisors during indoor and outdoor program sessions
- Actively engage and support children during structured group activities
- Help with setup, organization, and cleanup of camp materials and spaces
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of campers
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment
- Support with camp logistics and light administrative duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Availability for one of the following scheduling options over a 1-month period:
- Two full days/week (9:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
- Demonstrated interest in working with children, particularly those with diverse abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively in a team setting
- Patience, compassion, and professionalism
