Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Line Cook (Tempura Station) to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate is passionate about Japanese cuisine, particularly tempura, and thrives in a fast-paced restaurant environment. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality tempura dishes, maintaining food safety standards, and working closely with the kitchen team to deliver an exceptional dining experience. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook tempura dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Assist with food preparation, including cutting, marinating, portioning, and ingredient setup.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation before, during, and after service.
- Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Properly store ingredients and monitor food quality and freshness.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to management.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a line cook or in a professional kitchen is required.
- Experience with Japanese cuisine or tempura preparation is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to food quality and presentation.
- Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistency.
- Food Safety Certification is an asset (or willingness to obtain one).
