Harmony Public Charter School will be located in north central Edmonton. It is anticipated the school will open with 125 students (K-6) although the school will grow in population as the charter has been approved for a Kindergarten to Grade Twelve program. Charter schools in Alberta follow the Alberta Program of Studies are fully funded by the Government of Alberta. The Board of Directors will allocate funds to match the provincial salary grid and will offer a competitive benefit package.
The Board of Directors is seeking an effective leader who will support the school's charter which is an Africenter focus. The principal must support parental choice and have eligibility for Alberta teaching certification, a relevant Master's degree or evidence of registration in a program, LQS (Leadership Qualification Standard completion), and a minimum of five years teaching experience. Summer contract work would be an option as the school prepares to welcome students.
