St. Augustine's Church is seeking a dependable, hands-on individual to serve as our full-time Custodian.
This position plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our congregation, community members, staff, and visitors. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working independently, and values being part of a supportive church community.

What You'll Do
Building Cleaning and Care
- Clean and sanitize washrooms and replenish supplies
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, and maintain floors
- Dust furniture and clean common areas
- Monitor and maintain cleaning supply inventory
- Help ensure the church remains welcoming and presentable
Building Maintenance
- Perform minor repairs and general upkeep
- Change light bulbs and complete basic painting projects
- Assist with minor plumbing and maintenance tasks
- Conduct regular inspections and report maintenance concerns
- Monitor building systems and assist with seasonal geothermal system maintenance
- Ensure the security of the facility by locking and unlocking doors as required
Grounds Maintenance
- Collect litter and keep outdoor areas tidy
- Mow lawns and maintain exterior appearance
- Provide occasional backup support for snow-clearing contractors when required
Event Support
- Set up and take down tables, chairs, and equipment for church events and activities
What We're Looking For
- Experience in custodial, janitorial, building maintenance, or similar work is preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to occasionally work evenings or weekends when needed
- Basic maintenance and troubleshooting skills are considered an asset
