THE ROLE:
We are seeking a seasoned Controller for a 3+ month engagement to support a growing organization within the infrastructure sector. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will oversee a small accounting team while actively contributing to day-to-day operations and driving process improvements.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead and mentor a team of 4+ accounting professionals
Oversee full-cycle accounting and manage the month-end close process
Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with ASPE
Review contracts and support RFP processes
Collaborate cross-functionally to provide financial insights and guidance
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement automation initiatives
Maintain strong internal controls and ensure SOX compliance
Document workflows and enhance operational efficiencies

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
CPA designation (or equivalent) with 5+ years of relevant experience
Strong technical accounting knowledge, including ASPE and SOX compliance
Proven leadership experience managing and developing accounting teams
Hands-on experience with full-cycle accounting and financial reporting
Experience reviewing contracts and supporting RFP processes
Strong focus on process improvement, automation, and controls
Experience in project-based, engineering, or construction environments is an asset
Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP Business One preferred)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset
Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment
