Job Summary
Range Road Contracting & Consulting Inc. is looking for a skilled Construction Laborer / Junior Operator with proven experience in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on knowledge of site work, safe equipment operation, and the ability to support precision earthworks through grade checking, blueprint interpretation, and GPS systems. This is not an entry-level position — we are seeking individuals who are dependable, safety-focused, and ready to contribute to a fast-paced team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in site preparation, layout, and final grading on earthworks and civil projects.
- Perform a variety of construction labor tasks including shoveling, raking, compacting, and moving materials.
- Safely operate basic construction equipment (e.g., skid steer, packer, plate tamper, small tools).
- Provide grade checking and survey support for equipment operators to ensure accurate earthworks.
- Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications with attention to detail.
- Work with GPS machine control and grade control systems (experience is an asset; training will be provided).
- Maintain job site organization and uphold strict safety protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with foremen, operators, and crew members to complete work to schedule and quality standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous construction experience required (earthworks, civil, or related field).
- CSTS 2020 and WHMIS training required (can be provided for the right candidate).
- Strong knowledge of construction tools, equipment, and safe work practices.
- Ability to perform grade checking and blueprint reading (GPS knowledge a major asset).
- Physically fit with the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and willing to take initiative.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.75-$29.50 per hour
