Job Summary
We are seeking a Landscaping Labourer. This position is dependent upon weather conditions.
The position is for the summer and into the fall with the potential to carry on in the winter and next season. This is an outdoor position. Monday to Friday though some weekends may be required if we are rained out during the week. The hours listed in this add state 20-40. Some explanation here: 20 hours during weeks with heavy rainfall. During dry weather, expect 40 hours a week.
Duties
- Assist with landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming
- Operate machinery such as lawn mowers, string trimmers, backpack blowers, hand tools, wheel barrow
- Material movement: Lift and carry, wheel barrow, shovel
- Carry and roll out sod, shovel rocks into wheel barrow, move materials by hand from truck to specific locations on site
- Perform routine maintenance on landscaping equipment and tools
- Support construction activities related to landscape projects, including site preparation and material handling
- Maintain clean work areas and adhere to safety protocols at all times
- Work in outdoor conditions and follow verbal and written instructions
Requirements
- Prior Landscaping experience is an asset but we will train the right individual
- Basic troubleshooting is an asset
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, digging, and operating machinery for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license is desirable for site access
