The Inside Sales Representative role is the first step in a sales career with BOXX Modular, and a training ground to learn about the business, our clients and our and our company process with the possibility of growing into an Outside Sales Representative.
Inside Sales Representative will handle incoming customer inquiries, prepare quotations for products and services and collaborate with our Outside Sales Representative in researching, identifying and nurturing qualified leads to help grow our modular building rentals business, all while providing first-class customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supporting a branch’s sales team including creating sales documents and proposals, qualifying customers, researching leads, responding to routine inquiries and information requests, generating reports related to sales activities and revenue data
- Manage customer inquiries and prioritize customer requests that arise if Sales Representative is out of the office
- Present price and terms to customers in accordance with standard company procedures
- Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner, while educating customers about terminology, features and benefits of products to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction
- Create strong leads via cold calling, by monitoring Journal of Commerce/newspaper reports and site visits
- Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications
- Proactively recommend items needed by customers to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability
- Educate customers about terminology, features and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain up-to-date profiles of key customers, sales and rental contract documentation within our CRM software
- Contact customers following sales/rentals to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaints
- Remain current on consumer preferences, competitor landscapes, changes in local codes and product developments by attending sales meetings, vendor training and trade shows, and/or reading trade journals. Identify trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction
- Build and demonstrate product knowledge of Black Diamond Group’s products and key competitive product lines in order to effectively position products. Use this product knowledge to provide technical sales and service support to customers within the territory
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (mandatory)
- Ability to work full-time in-office, Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Ability to successfully complete a criminal record check
- Previous experience in customer service, inside sales, administration, coordination, or rental industry environments
- Experience in equipment rental, modular buildings, car rental, construction services, or related industries is considered an asset
- Previous experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce or NetSuite is highly desirable
- Post-secondary education in business, sales, marketing, or related fields is considered an asset
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle stressful situations professionally and resolve conflicts effectively
- Comfortable working extensively on phones, email communication, and computer systems
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-up and coordination skills
- Team-oriented mindset with a positive and proactive attitude
- Self-motivated and eager to learn and grow within the company
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
